A Chieftain of the People Democratic Party (PDP) and Special Assistant to Delta State Governor, on youth development, Prince Sony Jifas Ogbon (JP) has commended Sen Dr Ifeanyi Arthur Okowa, for taking a bold and right step at the right time in dissolving the State Executive Council and other notable appointments made two years ago.
Addressing newsmen after the announcement of the dissolution, the Olomu born Prince, described the governor’s action as a welcome development and another opportunity for new set of persons to be appointed to spread the dividends of democracy to others.
According to High Prince Jifas, “Governor Okowa, as the Ekuweme of Africa has the interests of all Deltans at heart, Okowa is a seasoned and astute politician with embodiment of experience, a trailblazer, a true progressive selfless leader, a man of honour, very articulate on numerous issues, devoid of an atom of a domineering attitude whose proven track records in governance are unparalleled.
“His doggedness and approach to sensitive issues affecting the State are clear indication that he is not a tribalistic person.
“The dissolution is in line with the governor’s promise to spread the dividends of democracy to all Deltans. The out gone members of the State Executive Council have served judiciously and also tasted the juicy parts of the government.
“It is therefore proper to give others, especially the youths opportunity to serve and showcase their skills in governance. He urged the governor to continue engaging the youths in governance to reduce youths restiveness and other vices.
He also use this medium to commend the governor in the manner he pilots the affairs of South South region, especially, putting in his endless efforts in ensuring massive development of the region.
