Oviri-Ogor Community Holds Maiden Conference, Honours Sons And Daughters

..Laments Absence of Govt Assistance 
..Passes vote of no confidence on representatives

UGHELLI -In recognition of their various contribution towards the repaid development of their immediate environment, Oviri-Ogor community in Ughelli North local government area of Delta State has given awards of excellence to some of her sons and daughters.
Those honoured and awarded are, His Royal Majesty HRM,  Okiemute  Igere I, Ovie of Ogor Kingdom,  Olorogun Kpuwhara Anthony, Olorogun Uteme Bateren, Engr. Barr. David Ikutegbe and 18 others.
The community has also passed a vote of no confidence on the vice chairman of Ughelli North local government and the Councilor representing Ogor WARD II.
They were honoured at the annual general meeting and maiden conference held at the community Town Hall to mark the Olorogun Monday Otobrise led executive one year in office.
In his address, the chairman of Oviri-Ogor, Olorogun Monday Otobrise highlights some notable projects his executive has embarked on since they assumed office.
He said, “Within the shortest possible time, I am delighted to enumerate some of the achievements of this administration which includes,  “The building of 20 lock-up shops, renovation of dilapidated open market stalls brought by Hon. Kpuwhara Anthony while he was a councillor.

“We embarked on the creation of n
new roads and streets, donation of of dual seats to Oviri-Ogor secondary school, restoration of electricity, renovation of Town Hall, standard security outfit and the creation of enabling environment between Edjeme landlord in the community”.

Lamenting the lack of government presence in the community,  Otobrise said, “I want to stay categorically that the Oviri-Ogor produced the vice chairman of the local government in the persons of Hon. Uyoh Victor and  Hon. Idiovwa Rachael as councilor representing Ogor ward II, but their impact have not been felt since their administration which is winding up about now under the leadership of Hon Godwin Adode.
“It is suffice to say that our community has not benefitted anything from the honorable member representing Ughelli North constituency I, and from the local government council.
“We are appealing to them to come to our aid in providing Water, Toilet facilities, Science Labs and fencing of our school which is the only government presence in the community.
