Lockdown Extension: NCWS Nigeria, Delta State Chapter Commiserates With Women, Advises On Prayer

ASABA- As part of efforts to restate the importance , or roles of Women in building a strong, lively and lovely society towards curtailing the spread of the deadly global Covid-19 pandemic in Nigeria, precisely Delta State to promote national development, the President, National Council For Women Society (NCWS)- Nigeria, Delta State Chapter, Mrs Helen Tsitse Bob-Manuel has called on Women in the state to intensify more efforts in Prayers to God as a panacea to the ravaging global pandemic.

Mrs Helen Tsitse Bob-Manuel dislosed this to our reporter in a press statement made available to Newsmen today in Asaba, Delta State Capital signed by her and the State Publicity Secretary, Mrs Bridget Ada Ebomah commiserated with the Women all over the state on the current global Covid-19 pandemic crisis ravaging human livelihood, that has led to total lockdown of Businesses in the country, Delta State in particular on their absolute faith in God in this trying times of Covid-19 lockdown.

The National Council For Women Society (NCWS)- Nigeria is the apex Women body, group in Nigeria; a formidable group in Nigeria and abroad comprises of a combination of all Women groups, Associations in the country with branches in the 36 States and FCT and 774 Local Government Areas in Nigeria who are in the forefront of promoting advocacy on areas like Women Gender equality, mainstream in line with United Nations recommendations, pushing for massive involvement of Women in politics, fighting for the interest of its members, fundamental human rights of Women everywhere in the country and globally for sustainable socio-economic, cultural and political development in all its State Chapters, especially in Delta State.

The State President, National Council For Women Society then thanked Delta Women on their patience and doggedness, and also applauded Women in the State who are also in the category of Health Workers, or Medical practitioners on their supportive roles as Professionals towards ensuring that Deltans curtail the spread of the pandemic by providing the needed advice and expertise as panacea to arresting the critical nature of the global pandemic or dreaded disease.

The State number one Women Leader while advising Women generally to take more precaution by adherering to the Guidelines of the WHO and State Health workers towards preventing the spread of Covid-19 disease, then Commended the efforts of the state Government led by His Excellency Sen. Dr. Arthur Ifeanyi Okowa, the Delta State Ministry of Health, State Covid-19 Committee, especially Women Medical Practitioners, Health Workers and other Critical Stakeholders on the palliative measures put in place since the ongoing Lockdown towards arresting the ugly situations in Delta State.

The State President further admonished the Women folks in the state to use their God given talents to provide the needed support to the society at this time of global lockdown on Covid-19 pandemic through fervency in prayers and supplications for its members, everyone towards victory and normalcy in the society- Delta State, Nigeria and the rest of the World.

She then appealed to Women in the State to ensure that they Stay safe by obeying strictly to the stay at home order of the State and Federal Government, maintain social distancing, wash their hand regularly with soap and running water for at least 20 seconds, that mothers and care-givers should teach their children, especially the young ones how to use the hand sanitizer, isolate and keep to other hygienic measures towards curtailing the spread of the pandemic in the State.

The State President further appealed to Delta Women to shield their swords and not to protest against the State Government decision on the extension of lockdown, sit at home order, adding that the gesture was not intended to punished them but for the benefits of all towards curtailing the spread of the Covid-19 pandemic in the state.
