National Coordinator of Elohim Political Forum, EPF, Prince Omote Emmanuel has commended Deltans for adhering strictly to Stay -At-Home directives by the state government over Coronavirus pandemic.
In a statement, Omote stated that Deltans are very law abiding and honest to their leaders irrespective of political parties.
He however condemned the brutal killing of Joseph Pessu by the Nigeria Army.
According to the statement, “While I commend the people of my dear state for obeying government order over the fight against Covid -19, I will also pray them to be law abiding.
“Though it would not be easy to stay at home, Coronavirus is a global disease that is ravaging the world without possible cure and it is better to be indoors than to contact the disease and spread it.
“Elohim Political Forum is appealing to Deltans especially the people of Delta Central to continue to be law abiding in fighting this unwanted killing disease, Covid -19.
On the killing of Joseph Pessu by the Nigeria Army, Omote said, “While we condole with the families of our late brother, his killers should be brought to book.
“We will not accept any form of intimidation by the uniform men who ought to protect lives and properties and we are calling and appealing to the Federal and State government to investigate the killing.
“The Nigeria Army should bring to book the suspected Army that is trigger happy to face the wrath of the law as we shall follow up the issue extensively.”
“We should ensure to keep our environment clean and maintain the social distance warning as a proactive measures in keeping the state free of the disease.” Omote stated.
The Delta state governor,, Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa in a broadcast order for a total lockdown of the state boarders in other to curtail and contain the spread of the disease.
