WARRI- The National Coordinator of Centre for Peace and Environmental Justice ( CEPEJ), Comrade Sheriff Mulade has appealed to Governor Ifeanyi Okowa to consult experts for lasting solutions towards the provision of better welfare to flood victims in the state as predicted by NIHSA.
Comrade Mulade, a Niger- Delta human rights and Environmental Activist made the call in Warri while reacting to the call by Delta State Government to her Citizens living in flood prone areas to relocate to higher grounds.
The Environmentalist opined that the predictions of the Nigerian Hydrological Services Agency (NIHSA) that heavy rains and flood will in other part of the countries to Nigeria in September is a wake up call to the State Government to Consult experts and come up with solutions.
Comrade Sheriff stressed further that the initiative is the the cognitive experience, and relevant skills capable of providing better welfare for the internally displaced persons in their various camps, or towards building of better accommodation, structures for the flood victims in the state.
CEPEJ Boss therefore urge Delta State Government to give priority to 17 Local Government Areas in the state that is prone to flood, and concentrate more on the welfare of her Citizens for proper management of the crisis.
