A Professor of Mathematical Physics at Igbenedion University, Okada, Edo State, Nigeria, Professor Raphael .E. Asibor has said that the institution will host a National Conference on Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) on Green Academia and Industry Research towards providing solutions to the problems facing the 17 United Nations Sustainable Development Goals in Nigeria on the 6th- 7th August, 2019 at the University Library Conference Hall by 10am prompt on the theme: ” Green Academia and Industry Research Synergy to promote Sustainable Development Goals in Nigeria.
Dr Asibor made this known to our reporter yesterday at the University Campus, Okada, Edo State, Nigeria while Fielding questions from some group of Journalists.
The Erudite Professor stated that Nigeria as a nation lacks Industry Researchers, therefore that the Nation’s Academia should rise up to the challenges of proffering solutions to the challenges of Sustainable Development Goals.
He stated that the forthcoming event at the University’ Campus will welcome highly placed, distinguished individuals in different fields of human endeavor as discussants on various sub- themes such as: “Academia, Industry and Government interface: The Tripple Helix Model, Food Security: Socio-economic Sustainable Green Economy and Green Growth, Environmental Conflict and Security Management, Toxicological concerns and Health Care, Entrepreneurship and Community Based Research.
The Mathematician Cum Physicist added that the occasion will be Chaired by Professor Olufemi Bamiro, the Former Vice Chancellor of University of Ibadan, Hon. Minister of Science and Technology as Keynote Speaker, and GMD Slumberger Nigeria Limited as Guest of Honour.
In another Development, Dr. Asibor stated that the call for abstract on paper presentations has been extended to the members of the public, to be addressed to the Chairman of the Editorial/Research Committee that will address the theme of the Research day, which will be published eventually on that day of the event.
In his words: ” We have invited the GMDs of Nestle Foods Nigeria Limited, pz Cussons, Cardbury Nig. Limited, Guinness Nigeria Limited, NOAC, SPDC, All Commercial Banks, Dangote Cement Group, NNPC, NOTAP, Exxon Mobile, Nigerian Chevron, Nifor, Curtix plc to mention but a few of the Companies”.
He uses the medium to invite all Captains of Industry, Academia from other institutions, Reseachers, Political Stakeholders, And other Critical Stakeholders in Nigerian affairs ansmd international Communities to attend the epoch- making event at the University
He then noted that an avenue for invited Companies, Industries, firms and heads of different corporate organizations to exhibit their products, showcase their goods and services that day has been set aside for Sustainable socio-economic development.
