“The cause of her teeth pulling off was as a result of poor oral hygiene and her unconscious attitude towards oral health and lack of medical attention and this new sets of teeth would last her for another 15years if properly cared for”. Dr. Efetobore Oyibo, the dentist disclosed.
High point of the the three days events tagged, ‘The Good News of Salvation, Gbaraun2019’, climaxed with the founder/Presient of Elohim Ministries International Inc, USA, and Ekuogbe Akpodiete Foundation, Brenda Ome Ada Akpodiete celebrating her 53rd birthday by awarding schoolarship to 53 indigent students of the community.

He said, “When I got the information that the organizer of the free medical treatment was coming from the United States, I doubted because this has never happened before because people tagged Gbanraun community as a hostile place, den of kidnappers, militants and pipeline vandals.
“But to my surprise, they came and did more than expected as many people were tested, treated and given free drugs, free eye glasses, filling up and replacement of teeths for both old and young, free massage, free haircut, prayers& counseling, giving of free Bibles in English and Ijaw language, free training in baking and designing, Decoration, Make up/Gele, Pedicure and Manicure, Bead /Hat/hand fan making, Poultry Farming, Soap, Mentholator, Vaseline making and give away of clothes, shoes, children toys, bicycles, furnitures and educational books for learning.
Speaking further, the monarch said, “People die daily, especially pregnant women during delivery because there are no health centers in any of the 22 communities with other sub communities that make up Gbaraun kingdom.
“People have to be rushed through boats for over 2hrs to Federal Medical Center, Yenegoa, and some die on the way because of the distance while others cannot afford the transport fare.
He however appeal to Elohim Ministries International Inc, USA and Ekuogbe Akpodiete Foundation to take this program to the other communities that make up the kingdom”. Pere Okiakpe appealed.
Gbanraun is the biggest kingdom with over 30,000 people in Southern Ijaw Local Government Area of Bayelsa State but has one collapsed Secondary School, no electricity, network connection and it is flooded and inaccessible during the raining seasons.
