The Returning Officer for the election of House of Representatives, Isoko Federal Constituency, has declared Mr. Leo Ogor the winner of the just concluded National Assembly for the 5th time in a roll.
Though the election of two wards, Olomoro Ward 6, and Umeh /Erowah Ward 8, were cancelled due to shortage of electoral voting materials.
Declaring Leo Ogor of the People’s Democratic Party winner, the Independent National Electoral Commission Returning Officer said, “I the Returning Officer, Ashikadi Ego Edwin, for House of Representatives, Isoko South and North Federal Constituency, held on the 23rd of February 2019, that the election was contested and the candidates received the following votes.
“Edafe Unuezi Oduh, ADP- 534, Joel Onowakpo Thomas, APC- 23,553, Ogor Leonard Okuweh, PDP- 34,000.
“That Ogor Leonard Okuweh of the People’s Democratic Party, having satisfied the requirements of the law and score the highest number of votes, is hereby declare the winner and returned elected. Signed by Ashikadi, on the 25th day of February, 2019. Good day and remain bless.
Reacting to the victory, Hon Jay Ogor disclosed that he is happy that his elder brother won just as he dedicates the victory to Isoko people.
He said, “As a core founding member of the party, Leo Ogor anticidents speak for him, in Isoko, Delta State and Nigeria at larget
“He is not just an ordinary politician but an astute politician and he going back to the House shows that his works speak volumes. Leo track record in Isoko is spellbounding, it is not something you can just talk about overnight.
“He had a history, he said loved by his people and we see this as a precedents that others should emulate.
“Politics is not about gansterism, but about love, we must be able to share love and show to each other that our community matters, and we saw that no matter the circumstances, the community stood behind him and say yes, this is our candidate, with him we are satisfied.
Speaking further, Jay held that no matter the type of politics that we play, we are all brothers. Politics is a temporary thing, we are all brothers, Isoko is our fathers and mothers land.
We cannot fight and for us to meet the aggrieved parties because some of those aggrieved are members of PDP. So, we need to sit down and find the way forward because we are one family and we also have a bigger election coming up and the Isoko people should expect greater things ahead”. Jay Ogor said .
