—– promises to ensure completion of Isoko Ring Road and other projects

A House of Representative candidate for Isoko Federal Constituency, Hon. Joel Onowakpo has vowed to complete the Isoko Ring Road and 132 KVA electricity projects cited at Ozoro if voted into office come 2019.
Onowakpo who is contesting under the All Progressive Congress (APC) also maintained that the era of classroom renovation projects by the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) was over, adding that he will ensure major and massive projects are cited in Isoko land.
Speaking at the weekend when he paid a courtesy call to the Isoko Development Union (IDU) at the union’s secretariat in Oleh, Isoko South Local Lovernment Area of Delta State, Onowakpo said his decision to run for the Isoko seat at the Lower Chambers of the National Assembly, was informed by a dire need to advance the Isoko Nation both politically, economically and developmentally as well as position Isoko in her pride place in Nigeria and the globe.
Onowakpo who was a one time local government council chairman, Isoko South, former Chairman, Delta State Board of Internal Revenue and Coordinator, Rivers, Edo and Delta, Federal Inland Revenue Services, asserts that he was well groomed both politically and economically and has what it takes to make Isoko great, but quickly added, “no man knows it all that’s why I always maintained I’m open to advise from anyone that can move Isoko forward.”
Addressing over 1000 Isoko sons and daughters gathered to listen to his vision for the Isoko Nation, Onowakpo said the time for the liberation of the Isoko people has come, hence he decided to come and unveil himself to the Isoko Development Union.
He said, “when i was appointed coordinator of River, Edo and Delta State at the Federal Inland Revenue Service to generate revenue, it was a known fact that the internally generated revenue of the Federal Government improved tremendously.
“However, I looked at myself and said, I have been generating revenue for the Federal Government but when I come to Isoko, I discovered that Isoko has become a forest without development and no Federal presence.
“I said to myself it is time to reciprocate what I have done for Delta State and the Federal Government in Isoko nation if given the mandate. Isoko will become a better place, that any project that comes to Isoko nation will see the light of the day and the projects will not be abandoned.
“I will make sure the youths and the women are empower and fully engaged and ensure that whatever the Federal government will provide gets to the people.
“I am not going to the House of Reps to become a contractor, there are people here who can do contracts. My aim is to become the bridge between the Isoko people, Local government, State government and the Federal government. We need to get it right this time around and I believe no ethnic nationality will take us for a ride again.”
In his response the President General Isoko Development Union, High Chief Iduh Amadhe stated that as a leader of the Isoko ethnic nationality, he is a father to all vying for electioneering position in Isoko land, noting that any Isoko sons and daughters vying for position must be given the opportunity to come and see the umbrella body of the Isoko nation.
He reiterate that giving them the opportunity to come and see the leadership of the union will make them, the union to remind them from time to of their electioneering campaign promises to Isoko nation and also call them to order.
High Chief Amadhe however stated that Hon Joel-Onowakpo Thomas Ewomazino have all it takes to give the Isoko nation effective and quality representation if given the mandate by the people.
He also lauded the traditional rulers and various communities president general for making themselves available for the courtesy visit by Hon.Joel-Onowakpo.
