Crisis rocking Agbarho community in Ughelli North took another twist as the community have installed new monarch after the former was dethroned over his leadership style.
It would be recalled that reigning monarch ,Samson Ogugu I, was last Sunday chased out the palace over his alleged leadership style that has thrown the community into confusion.
The new monarch Osuvie elect, HRM William Onokpite was installed by the kingmakers, Isuchehe of the Agbarho on Monday at about 5.53pm amidst rousing ovation at the palace of the Kingdom
The installation ceremony which took place at the palace was done by Usueche T. E Akatugba, the Otota of Agbarho kingdom
In his speech Akatugba said, “We want peace to reign in Agbarho community and all issues should be put to rest as from now”.
Speaking after the installation ceremony, Mr. Erhiakpore Ibini said, “We have install another Osuvie as the king of Agbarho following the revolution of the youths in protest removing Samson Ogugu I, from the the reign of Agbarho.
“We have decided to install the next person who is William Onokpite who was the Usuche I as at the time Samson Ogugu was reigning, now that there is no vacancy, the Agbarho people have decide to install Chief William Onokpite as the Osuvie of Agbarho.
“There is no vacancy or vaccum in Agbarho king”. Chief Erhiakpore Ibini, a legal practitioner said.
Also, Chief S. W. Anaughe said, “We have just installed and new king to take the place of the one whom we have sacked from the throne.
“Agbarho is united, Agbarho is one whether you belong to any of the groups, we are one and it is the whole of Agbarho that have installed this king.
“From the little that we have known about it, the unity that has been lacking in Agbarho since Ogugu took over the throne is coming to be now”.
