.. Okowa is keen on developing Delta state-Osawota
From Grandball Joel
Over 500 members of the All Progressive Congress, APC, have decamped to the family of the People’s Democratic Party PDP in Orogun, Ughelli North Local Government Area of Delta state.
Speaking on behalf the decamped persons, Chief Jamarson Ovuoraevwie said, “We are motivated by the developmental strides of the State Governor, Sen. Dr. Ifeanyi Arthur Okowa, and have promised to support his reelection bid.
According to Ovuoraevwie, they decided to jump ship because the APC neglected them after working vigorously for the success of the party. We were promised equal opportunities before joining but they have failed to fulfilled the promises after joining and we have no option than to retrace our steps back to the PDP.
This is just as the Board Chairman, Delta State Polyethnic, Otefe-Oghara, Chief Andy Osawota urged Deltans and Orogun people in particular to massively turn out and vote for Sen. Dr Ifeanyi Okowa and the PDP in the 2019 general elections as the APC administration had failed Nigerians.
Also, Chief Engr. Barrack Ozor stated that they took the decision to leave APC because of the mismanagement the party had perpetrated in the Wards for the past three years of its reign. The time had come for all Orogun sons and daughters to dump the APC, because the party has brought untold hardship to the people in the country.
Commending the decamped APC members for the taking a bold step, Former secretary to the Delta Oil Producing Area Development Commission, DESOPADEC and the chairman governing board of the Delta State Polytechnic, Otefe-Oghara, Chief Andy Osawota said that the that the defection was a testimony that the APC administration had failed the Nigerians.
Appealing to Deltans to fulfil and accomplished the task of reelecting governor Ifeanyi Okowa who is committed to the development of the state, Osawota disclosed that, the State Governor; Sen. Dr. Ifeanyi Arthur Okowa is committed to the development of Orogun, saying; the Ministry of Works is set to mobilize to Orogun and commence work on the Obedeti-Eboh-Aragba road, and the Imodje-Otorho-Abbi ring road and they must see the reelection of Governor Ifeanyi Okowa as a task that must be accomplished”.
Receiving the former APC members, Chairman of Ughelli North PDP, Lawrence Agbatutu said, “Their coming to the PDP mark the death of APC in Orogun and Ughelli North at large, he charged the defectors to remain focused and united so as to be able to move the party forward.
Hon. Agbatutu who expressed satisfaction over party faithful and supporters for their enthusiasm and loyalty to the party stressed that the party remain committed in carrying everybody along, he urged them to always support PDP and the government of Senator Dr. Ifeanyi Arthur Okowa. The new members will be given equal opportunities as old members because in PDP we are all one and have same equal opportunities at all time”
Agbatutu urged all eligible voters without voters’ card to go and register and collect their Permanent Voters Card ahead of the 2019 general elections as the PVC is the only ticket to vote Governor Okowa back to power and all PDP candidates and flush out the APC from the Delta state and Nigeria in 2019.
