The leading governorship aspirant and Speaker, Delta State House of Assembly, Rt Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, has stated that his mission is to operate an open responsive government that will meet the needs of Deltans.
Oborevwori made this known while addressing party delegates, leaders, elders, youths, women, supporters and other stakeholders at the grand finale of his consultation at Adane Primary School, Orerokpe, Okpe Local Government Area of the State.
He said, he was elated by the massive turnout, saying that; “campaigns have not started but I am so amazed with the massive turnout here in Orerokpe, it is like a carnival, this is just my consultation visit to tell you that your son has the intention to contest for the Governorship seat in 2023.
“So, I need the support of all our delegates here and across the State. I must thank all our leaders from the three Senatorial Districts for the show of love and support all the way.
“You people have been very supportive. My vision is to keep Delta State ahead of other states in the country in all aspects. Come 2023, by the grace of God, I will continue from where our Governor, Senator Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa who has done a lot in the State will stop”, he added.
According to Oborevwori, who is also the National Deputy Chairman of the Conference of Speakers of State Legislatures of Nigeria, stated that he has presided over the affairs of the Delta State House Assembly with every sense of responsibility, pointing out that the stability in the House for over five years was an attestation of his high leadership acumen and pragmatic approach to politics and governance.
“For me to manage 29 constituencies for 5 years uninterrupted, I can also mange the state very well. I want to assure Deltans that I will not let them down. I will not disappoint Deltans, we are together because we are one”.
In their goodwill messages, Chief P. Y Biakpara, Chief Nkem Okwofu, Chief Roland Oritsejafor, Chief John Oguma and Prof Sam Oyovbaire, urged delegates to do the right thing by voting for the Governorship aspirant at the PDP primaries slated for May 21st, 2022.
