All Progressives Congress, APC, Candidate for the Delta State House of Assembly, Ughelli North Constituency II, Barr Jaro Egbo has backed President Muhammadu Buhari statement on Ballot Box snatchers on election day.
Speaking on the occasion of free fuel for motorcycle riders and uniforms for primary school pupils said, “I do not see anything wrong with the statement of President Muhammadu Buhari who ordered security agencies to deal with any person caught snatching ballot boxes on election day.
It would be recalled that barely few days to the Presidential and National Assembly elections, Buhari had ordered that anybody seen snatching ballot boxes on election day should be dealt with without mercy and that has generated comments from Nigerians.
According to Egbo “When we mount our pulpits in church we are told that any soul that sinneth shall die and same is applicable to our Muslim brothers that if you are not for Allah, you die.
“How would a decent patriotic Nigerian go and snatch ballot boxes on election day to deprive people from voting.
“When you snatched ballot boxes, you get your kind people into governance and it will affect millions of people, our schools, Health institutions, infrastructures, the quality of the laws and governance we make to our people.
“One of the biggest crime is the snatching of ballot boxes on election day because it is against the will of the people and I am standing with President Buhari 100 percent on the order.
“The law stated it clearly that anybody that is committing and he such is running from the law, they can be decapitated”.
Speaking on the free fuel to motorcyclist and free uniform scheme to primary school pupils, Egbo said, “We are trying to ameliorate the suffering of our Okada riders who has reduced themselves to that level because there is no job for them.
“Majority of these people are graduates and because there are no jobs, they resulted into motorcycle riding but our government today have imposed on them illegal extortion and levies and it will be our first fight to stop that illegal collection.
On uniform scheme to primary school pupils, he said, “We have find out that some of our pupils are going to school with torn uniforms because their parents could not afford them new ones because of money.
“And as a way of helping our people, we decided to introduce this free uniform scheme but as at today we were unable to do the distribution because schools are on holidays and when they resumed we will do the distribution.
“We will continue to do it to help our people. It is not about politics but our people first”. He said.
