Bashorun Askia Foundation, a non-profitable Organisation has empowered 124 Isoko South Market women with over N6.2m to boost their various businesses in Isoko South Local Government Area of Delta State.
This is just the foundation also embarked on a three days free medical services in the local government.
According to the president of the foundation, Bashorun Askia Ogieh JP, who is also the Executive Director Finance and Administration, EFDA, at the DESOPADEC board, “The cash empowerment is geared towards stimulating the petty businesses of the market women across the eleven (11) Wards in Isoko South.
Speaking at his country home in Uzere, Isoko South, Bashorun said, “A total number of 10 Market Women were selected from the 11 Wards, and the sum of N50,000 was give to them each to boost their petty trading businesses and to make them feel at home.
“This has been the nature of the Foundation since inception in building Human Capital Development for Isoko people in line with the smart agenda of Sen. Ifeanyi Okowa administration.
He called on other to emulate the good gesture of Chief Bashorun Askia Foundation in the areas of empowerment noting that would represent Gov Okowa genuinely love for Isoko Nation and his administration has also shown readiness by ensuring that the dividends of Democracy gets to the People.
“We will continue to empower our people to be self sufficient, independent to live a better life in a conducive environment”. He promised.
