Breaking: Jon Egie, Ogbagah elected as Ughelli Correspondent Chapel Chairman, Secretary In A Landslide Victory

Comrade Jon Egie has been elected as the chairman of Nigeria Union of Journalists, Ughelli Correspondent Chapel defeating the incumbent, Comrade Polycarp Orosevwotu and Comrade Mathias Ogbagah defeated Comrade Kofa Kings. 

In a keenly contested elections, Egie won with 12 votes to defeat Polycarp with 11 and Mathias scored 17 votes to defeat   Kofa with who pulled 6 votes respectively. 

Other elected officers are Comrade Oghenekaro Awodeha as Assistant Secretary, Comrade Efidhere Omamuzo as Treasurer, Monica Ogbaudu as Financial Secretary, and Ukane Godwin as Auditor.
In his speech, State Secretary of the Union, Comrade Churchill Oyowe urge the newly elected members to run an inclusive government.


“We must redeem our image as journalists and we must be professional in our reportage, the beggerly attitude should be jettisoned.


“As a union, we should live in harmony as brothers and sisters to carry everybody along”. Oyovwe said. 


In his acceptance speech, Comrade Egie assured the union that he will carry everyone along in his administration.
According to him, “I will do all that is necessary to carry everybody along in the union, I will be  loyal to the union, abide by the constitution that guides the profession.
