African Action Congress candidate for the Delta State House of Assembly in Bomadi constituency, Oburumu Tamaraukepreye has called for the cancellation of election results in Bomadi local Government Area over an alleged irregularities and vote buying at the just concluded gubernatorial and State House of Assembly elections in March, 9.
Addressing newsmen at Bomadi, Oburumu said, “I am officially rejecting the deliberate attempt to enslave the poor people of Bomadi constituency through the guise of elections and I demand for immediate cancellation of all the unit result of Bomadi constituency because they did not reflect the actual figures rather concocted.
“INEC adhoc staff were subjected to open rigging, vote buying, intimidation of genuine voters anddisruption of voting.
“I am not recognizing Hon. Preyor Oboro as the winner of the election untila competent court says otherwise. I will not allow a cheat whom INECfraudulently declared as the winner of a kangaroo election to representBomadi constituency.
“I have physical, video and audio evidences of the huge irregularities thatplayed out in 99% of the polling units across the constituency.
“It was a clear situation of massive rigging, vote buying ranging from the sum of N500 to N2,000 for each compromised voter by the other political parties.
“AAC Party agents were intimidated harassed, molested and physically assaulted by thugs and party loyalists of the PDP in Bomadi, Okoloba, Akugbene, Ogbeinma, Ogriagbene, kpakiama and Akugbene.
“Card reader for another community was brought in by INEC and this delayed the voting process for over eight hour and in that process, a serving commissioner name withheld assaulted me.
“In Ekamta and Kalafiogbene towns, brithe INEC officials were compromised and sensitive electoral materials were diverted to private houses of individuals where thumb printing allegedly took place.
“Community chairmen of most towns especially Esanma, Akugbene, Ogodobiri, Ezebiri, Okoloba, Ogriagbene, Ekamta openly showed that they have compromised by allowing rigging to take place at the glare of everyone including security agencies .
“In Bomadi town, ward one, AAC agents were harassed as sensitive Electoral materials and results sheets were diverted to private houses to perfect the rigging syndrome.
Our party AAC agents due to the open rigging have all refused to sign the concocted results in every polling unit .I pledge to stand by the truth in spite of the PDP’s attempt to buy me overbut we intelligently gave them conditions they couldn’t meet and cowed awayin shame”.
“Our agents were stopped from attending the final collation of results inthe collation centers in Bomadi town hall by hoodlums suspected to be of the other political parties extraction.
